life on the global assembly line
I was very moved by this passage it put the world into perspective for me. How far advanced American is to third world countries. they are subjected to way more harsh conditions to grow up in. you could start work at six years old which is kind of scary to think about for me. i could never imagine wakening up at six and having to make soccer balls i would probably be watching cartoons instead. my heart really goes out for kids in those condition its terrible. That is why i think us as Americans should do more to prevent acts like theses from going on. i also think that are corporations should cut back the dictatorship over these third world countries. What really surprised me was most corporation target countries that will guarantee no interference from health and safety inspectors, trade unions, or even freelance reformers. It’s sad to know that our world is becoming a global market. Countries are used and misused over and over again for cheap labor and what cheaper way to get production started then to target young children to work for minimum wage. America needs to stop this crisis just like it tries to stop other conflicts across the world such as poverty and war. But the problem is America is benefiting from this cheap labor. America needs to stop before it loses its reputation and needs to morally help those nations that need help. Work should be a way of providing essentials with savings not working for minimal products needed to survive. Dictating woman and young children to work in these conditions is unmoral and should be stopped. Women are not weaker beings and should not be treated as such. You can not walk over woman like they are only here to provide labor for corporations. This is both sexist and unjust. How would you like your daughter making soccer balls because it is required of her to survive. Doesn’t sound good does it? This must be stopped and America needs to be the nation to help stop it not participate in it.

i agree, its pretty horrible that America does very little to inform the public or create unions to stop this, i think there is so much corruption in our government and will probably always be. America needs to help these nations that cry for it instead of worsen nations by promoting business with underground sweatshops and industry
